Grief and trauma-informed COACHING

Reclaim your true self. Let go of what no longer serves you, and step into the life you were always meant to live.

This is bespoke, 1:1 soul work — created for those navigating the long ache of loss, the quiet unravel of identity, or the soft rebuild after rupture. No two sessions are the same. No two journeys identical.

Together, we tend to the invisible: the griefs without funerals, the traumas without names, the stories without safe listeners. I bring presence, precision, and deep reverence. You bring your truth — whether it’s clear, tangled, or trembling.

This work is not a quick-fix or prescriptive. It’s layered, spacious, and rooted in trust.

I am not a long-term companion. I am the catalyst — a sharp, sacred interruption to the noise. My work is to stir clarity, initiate change, and offer deep resonance at pivotal moments. This is coaching designed not for endless sessions, but for spacious transformation.

I don’t help you find yourself—I help you remember who you’ve always been, and become even more of that person.

Healing unfolds in layers, and I’ll be by your side as you navigate and grow through your trauma and grief – at a pace and path that feels right for you, and beyond. Growth and happiness are uniquely yours to define, and together, we’ll uncover what that truly means for you. We’ll journey beneath the surface – exploring your mental landscape, your embodied state, and the external influences that shape your experience. Depending on our focus, we may explore a variety of areas, including, but not limited to:

  • Nervous system regulation;

  • Motivation and productivity;

  • Elevating self-awareness;

  • Developing and maintaining self-esteem and confidence;

  • Somatic healing, e.g. breath, voice, movement, sensations, emotions, feelings;

  • Cultivating a strong sense of self (identity);

  • Exploring core values, attitudes, beliefs and wounds;

  • Managing stress, depression, and anxiety;

  • Identifying, setting and maintaining boundaries;

  • Inner dialogue / inner child work;

  • Identifying and honouring needs and desires;

  • Noticing the impact of attachment styles;

  • Exploring the impact of environmental and social factors;

  • Healthy inner-resourcing for safety and nourishment.

The series of coaching sessions with Rebecca-Monique exceeded all my expectations. Rebecca-Monique created sessions that were the perfect blend of challenging, enlightening, really empowering, but also fun. More than anything, I really appreciated Rebecca-Monique’s care and encouragement, her infectious energy, and the obvious time that she had put in to the preparation of all the sessions.
— SM
Rebecca-Monique’s cool, level-headed approach gave rise to me feeling relaxed and held throughout our sessions. Her insight and observations were fluid and controlled, with the ability to recognise old patterns and give room to new ways of self-awareness...Her compassion and understanding drives the sessions, and you always leave feeling listened to. Most importantly, you take away tools that help change your life.
— SN

Rebecca-Monique had a unique way of delicately guiding me through my self-reflection journey and hand-picking timely exercises to deepen my introspection, which brought about many ah-ha moments. She is very thoughtful with her words and knowledgeable within her field.
— SB
Rebecca-Monique was able to provide useful insights into how I was feeling and shared her expertise in a clear and supportive manner. She was very respectful of boundaries and facilitated a safe space where I felt in control of the direction of the conversation.

Although my work is not therapy, nor am I a therapist, coaching with me is therapeutic. My work can be categorised as ‘complementary therapy’ or ‘adjunctive therapy’.

Understanding Trauma and Grief: A (VERY) Brief Summary

 Trauma is not an event.

It is something we experience physically and mentally that becomes trapped within us; affecting our nervous system and body chemistry – therapy helps ‘treat’ the effects of trauma.

But we are not our trauma – coaching can help us develop the wherewithal to sustaining long-term changes and growth conducive to our healing. Coaching helps to firmly ground us in the here and now, and provide agency during healing and recovery. It encourages active self problem-solving through heightened awareness of thinking and feeling states.

Racial trauma is a form of race-based stress experienced by Black, Indigenous People of Colour (BIPoC) that include reactions to dangerous events, and real or perceived experiences of racial discrimination.

Experiences of racial trauma may include threats of harm, humiliating and shaming events, as well as second-hand (witnessing) racial trauma.

This is very specialised somatic coaching that encompasses elements such as:

  • lived, embodied experiences of Black bodies;

  • inter-generational trauma;

  • ancestral trauma;

  • epigenetic trauma;

  • systemic discrimination and oppression;

  • White body supremacy and white privilege;

  • Understanding colonialism and its impact on Black and white bodies.

Due to its historical, cultural and systemic nature, this type of trauma is seen to be ongoing (with continual exposure and re-traumatisation), and experienced on both an individual and collective level.

Working through racial trauma and race-based grief requires validating experiences, unlearning colonial systems of oppression, and fostering settling and healing practices – in safe, trusting spaces – specifically designed for Black bodies.

Learn more about racial trauma here.

Grief. This is a combination of conflicting emotions and feelings ignited by a change in a familiar pattern of behaviour or the end of way of life. When we lose something or someone that holds great significance to us, we grieve.

This could be the loss of a loved one, job, your business, a romantic break-up, a family betrayal; even loss of self i.e. feeling like you don’t know who you really are.

We experience conflicting emotions – such as anger, sadness, relief, pain, abandonment, guilt, shame etc. – when a pattern or behaviour comes to an end – often suddenly.

Coaching Package

Healing takes time; it seldom happens in an instant. Navigating your grief and trauma journey requires patience, persistence and commitment.

I only take on a small number of private clients every year.

A great deal of our healing is solitary. A great deal of our healing is also relational. One of the keys to a successful coaching partnership is the strength and health of the client-coach relationship.

I take considered care in creating the right conditions for a highly resonant and personalised experience for all my clients. This means ensuring:

  • client-coach attunement i.e. nurturing a harmonious relationship;

  • My skills, knowledge and experience are at a competent level to support you.

If either of us feel that we’re not an ideal match, I will signpost you to other resources and organisations, or someone who may be better suited to support you.

I work with clients on a short, focused basis, typically over 6 weeks.
This time-bound container allows for depth, momentum, and meaningful change without over-extending the work.

Sessions are one hour, held weekly, creating consistency, rhythm, and space for integration between sessions.
Additional sessions may be offered by invitation or mutual agreement, subject to availability.

What this work holds

Our work together includes tailored 1:1 coaching sessions, thoughtfully blending psycho-education with reflective and somatic approaches. You’ll be supported with carefully selected resources and practical tools, including a coaching guidebook, alongside light pre- and post-session work where appropriate. Gentle email support is also available between sessions to support continuity and integration.

Through our time together, you may begin to learn:

  • Psychological and psycho-somatic foundations related to grief and trauma

  • How to identify, name, and be with your feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations

  • Somatic techniques for self-regulation, grounding, and inner resourcing

Through the work, you may begin to identify:

  • Your core wounds and how they continue to shape your present-day experiences

  • Your core needs, and how to meet them with greater clarity, agency, and support

  • Adaptive and maladaptive patterns in daily life, and how to shift toward healthier, more empowered choices

  • Subconscious and implicit beliefs that hold you back, and how to gently challenge and re-write them

  • Unhelpful mental scripts, learning how to interrupt and reframe them

  • Your unique somatic landscape and imprints: how lived experience has shaped your nervous system, digestion, breath, voice, and movement

Together, we’ll create a grounded, compassionate plan for incremental yet meaningful change.

Investment

I believe trust begins with clarity. That includes being transparent about fees, while honouring that this work is a meaningful investment in yourself and your future.

Investment: £900

If now isn’t the right time, that’s okay. Many people arrive here to sense into readiness, gather information, or return when the moment feels aligned.

If funding is a consideration, you may wish to explore whether your employer or HR department is able to sponsor personal coaching in full or in part (this is often part of their Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – see here). I also offer lower-commitment options, including group work and written resources such as the 30 Days journaling series here and here, my podcast, and my monthly muse-letter), which may feel more accessible at different stages of your journey.

Payment is accepted via bank transfer, debit or credit card, PayPal, or direct debit. All card payments are processed securely online.

Where I Coach

I mainly coach via Zoom. I’m able to offer limited in-person sessions (I’ll invite you to my coaching venue in West London).

Notes:

  1. If you’re a business looking for mental health coaching to support your people, please head over to the wellbeing partnerships page for more information.

  2. If your personal coaching is being funded by a business, business rates may apply, depending on the scope of work.

  3. I no longer provide coaching – business or personal – to fellow mental health practitioners (coaches, therapists, counsellors etc.). I am, however, available to provide coaching supervision.

Registering Your Interest

Would you like to express an interest in working together?

To ensure I can offer each client the care, presence, and attention this work deserves, I only take on a small number of private clients each year.

My 1:1 practice is currently fully booked for 2026.
You’re welcome to join the waitlist if you’d like to be notified should availability open in the future. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee a space, but it ensures you’ll be the first to know.

At this stage, I’m simply collecting your name and email address. If and when availability arises, I’ll be in touch with next steps.

The Chemistry Call

Should a space become available and the work feel aligned, the next step is a 90-minute chemistry meeting, designed to support clarity on both sides.

This session includes:

  • 30 minutes of consultation to explore your needs, my coaching approach, and any practical questions

  • 60 minutes of coaching, offering insight, reflection, and a felt sense of what working together is like

By the end of the session, you’ll have a clear sense of whether I’m the right coach for you.

The chemistry meeting is a one-off investment of £150, with no obligation to continue into coaching.
This step is required before working together, as it helps set expectations and ensure mutual alignment.

Before Joining the Waitlist

Before registering your interest, I invite you to reflect on the following:

  • Does my approach, expertise, and style of coaching align with what you’re seeking?

  • Are you able to create the time, space, and conditions needed to engage fully in this work?

  • Is private coaching with me financially viable for you at this time, without creating strain?

If you can answer yes to each, you’re welcome to join the waitlist via the form on this page.

If you’d prefer to reach out directly, you can email coaching@rbccmnq.com.

I also encourage you to explore the site fully. The FAQs page may be particularly helpful.

Thank you for the care, courage, and consideration it takes to reach out. I aim to respond to all messages within 48 hours. If you haven’t heard back after this time, please do follow up and double-check that your email address was entered correctly.

If it feels nourishing, you’re welcome to stay close through my monthly muse-letter — a quiet offering of reflections and prompts.

If you have any general questions relating to coaching, send me a note via the Get In Touch page.
