From the dust of grief to the brilliance of becoming.
These essays are soil and scripture; a lyrical journey through race, healing and womanhood.
They remember, unearth, and reimagine what it means to heal in a Black woman’s body.
Daughter of the Soil is a reflective collection of twelve essays on grief, healing, singlehood, identity, and the sacred labour of becoming.
Rooted in the rich, complex soil of my Sierra Leonean heritage — a land known for its diamonds — these essays are part memoir, part meditation, and part invitation. They speak to the invisible, the unmothered, the ones navigating loss without language and healing without a map.
This is for every woman who has ever felt unseen in her grief, unspoken in her rage, or unheld in her becoming.
Each essay is followed by reflection prompts, designed to meet you where you are, and gently invite you deeper.
Whether you're journalling through heartbreak, reclaiming your voice, or simply breathing through the day, this eBook is a companion.
The essays will be released gradually over the coming months.
The first of the published essays, ‘The Word That Finds You: Intention, Magic and the Power of Naming Your Year’, is now available and is accompanied by the Intention Words reflective workbook.
